Local Pay : $48.00The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) assumes responsibility for the delivery of nursing and first aid services to employees or persons who are ill and / or injured on the job in accordance with facility policies, practices, and procedures.
The Occupational Health Nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of care and consistently performs according to their scope of practice, nursing standards and occupational health and wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within the RN scope of practicePerforms focused interviews to identify specific patient needsKnowledgeable of nursing techniques and information needed to treat acute injuries / illnesses onsiteIn-depth knowledge of health and safety measuresAssists in meeting Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulationsManages crisis’s and emergencies safely and efficientlyHelps to maintain and preserve the health of employees in their work environmentAnalyzes and prioritizes risk factors to achieve the highest level of health among employeesCommunicates information to supervisors, peers, insurance agencies or customers as applicable following HIPAA regulationsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon care requirementsProvides a safe, confidential, comfortable and therapeutic patient environmentDocuments patient’s response to nursing and other interventionsMonitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipmentPerforms other duties as assigned / necessaryMinimum Requirements : Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practicesOne year prior professional Occupational health experience preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills;
