About the job
As an Industry Consultant, you will act as a lead subject matter expert in the area of fraud, improper payments and non-compliance for government, primarily in the area of government tax and revenue programs.
You will provide business and high-level technical support for pre-sales activities for SAS’ fraud and compliance solutions as part of a team of other fraud and compliance subject matter experts across other government programs, health care and utilities.
As an Industry Consultant Tax and Revenue Compliance, you will :
- Work with sales account executives to develop account plans as well as craft and deliver client presentations and key capability demonstrations around the world.
- Lead client workshops, manage an opportunity pipeline, and support proposal development, formal procurement cycle (e.g.
RFI, RFP, RFQ) responses and contract negotiations.
Support the development of marketing materials, SAS sales training, and participate in activities that demonstrate SAS' experience and leadership in reducing fraud and increasing compliance and collections in government agencies (e.
g. author publications, speak at industry events, participate in industry associations and standards groups, and promote innovative concepts through social media channels).
- Engage with various levels of government, including senior elected officials and appointed senior staff, to affect policy and promote stronger tax compliance support and funding.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to customers and SAS implementation staff or partners during fraud solution implementations.
- Partner with technical specialists to develop and enhance demo assets to show SAS capabilities
- Provide input and feedback to delivery teams as well as R&D on capability gaps and customer needs
- Uncover and understand customer business needs; articulate the value of our solutions and offerings to various audiences including senior executives, functional managers, investigators and technologists;
and identify how SAS' tax and revenue compliance solutions can be easily integrated into existing business processes and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Eight (8) years or more of experience working directly for a government tax or revenue agency, with senior leadership experience, and exposure to multiple parts of the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, Computer Science, Analytics or related fields
- Public speaking experience
- Experience presenting complex ideas and concepts to department / agency heads or senior government executives
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require (avg. 25+%)
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred qualifications
- Experience in either drafting formal procurement vehicles (RFIs, RFPs) and evaluating vendor responses, or responding to formal procurement processes
- Bi-lingual Spanish speaking to serve as primary tax expert support for customers in Central and South America and Spain
