GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Corporate Trainer is responsible for maintaining the standards of the company by providing comprehensive training at the start of employment and as needed throughout employment.
They will measure production, quality and quantity and apply learning tools to improve both. Evaluate training programs and materials as well as training performance.
They will also facilitate and deliver internal learning solutions and develop in-house training programs as assigned. Our Corporate Trainer is an experienced educator, with the ability to convey a message in a way that motivates others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB :
- Develop and implement a learning curriculum that is consistent with current trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with company executives and department heads to identify training needs, schedule appropriate training sessions for employees, and establish methods to track employee performance.
- Create systems and surveys to monitor and ensure employees are performing their responsibilities accordingly.
- Ensure the compliance of the company’s employees to cooperate with standards and procedures during training sessions.
- Provide support and mentoring for new employees while conducting an evaluation and identifying sections where improvements are needed.
- Works hard for the success of others and always keeps a positive solution-oriented attitude.
- Manage classes with attendees of diverse levels of competencies and educational needs : must update current course content as needed.
- Perform any other duties as required or assigned.

- Must be comfortable talking in front of a group as well as one-on-one with an individual.

- COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Ability to read, write and understand English; ability to speak clearly, confidently, and effectively when greeting customers, clients, or vendors;
must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- INTERPERSONAL SKILLS : Builds rapport with learners and creates a positive learning environment. Also, able to clearly and effectively communicate information in a way that is easy to understand. Must enjoy teaching.
- ADAPTABILITY : Adapt teaching style to meet the needs of different learners and adjust their approach as needed.
- SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE : A strong understanding of the subject matter they are responsible for training and be able to keep up to date with new developments and best practices.
- CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written or verbal instructions; ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
- SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Must be able to work under limited supervision; standard practice enables the employee to proceed alone on routine work, referring to any questionable cases or issues to direct supervisor.
- PLANNING : Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner and / or prioritizing tasks;
may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
Must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- MENTAL DEMAND : Very close mental demand; multiple tasks requiring very close and continuous attention and a high degree of concentration and focus to limit errors Must be able to work effectively while multi-tasking in a high-volume environment.
- EMPLOYEE CONTACT : Regular contact with co-workers within the department, office or enterprise, which will require coordination of efforts generally in the normal course of performing duties;
requires tact in discussing problems, presenting data and making recommendations.
ACCURACY : High level of accuracy required; processes and communications must maintain a degree of confidentiality; responsible for setting up, monitoring, reviewing, and maintaining personal trust accounts on trust accounting system;
must pay special attention to tasks requiring repetitive input and / or review; as a proofreader, attention to detail is critical.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS :
While performing the essential functions of this job, this position is regularly required to sit, stand, talk or hear; use hands to handle or feel and frequently are required to reach with their hands and arms and occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance;
may occasionally lift, move, push or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
This is an indoor position and the noise level in the work area is usually moderate.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent work experience. 2-3 years of practical business experience in developing and delivering training solutions.
Previous presentation and training skills. Certification in training and / or organizational development a plus. Intermediate skill level with Microsoft, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
2-3 years administering LMS’s (i.e., scheduling, registering employees, and instructor resources).
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP :
This position reports directly to the EVP / Operations, Cashier / HR Director (and various Operations VPs). The EVP / Operations reports directly to the President / Chief Operating Officer of American National Bank & Trust.
OTHER : Must be able to travel to other American National Bank & Trust locations as required with this position.
