As a Finishing Rewind Operator and member of the Print Finishing Team you will help bring our customers’ package labels to life, enabling them to stand out over the competition, and create a customer experience that is second to none.

SHIFT AVAILABLE : 5am-5 : 15pm, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (36.75 hours)
Overtime is paid after 40 hours; typical OT available is at least one shift per month

Compensation for Finishing Operator will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth
Key Responsibilities for Finishing Rewind Operator include :
- Setting up, running, and maintaining a CEI or Rotoflex Rewind Machine in an efficient and timely manner
- Carefully and thoroughly inspecting completed labels for errors and defects
- Identifying, recommending, and implementing areas for Lean improvement / modification
- Performing work based on finishing spec sheet and priorities assigned by the Finishing Lead / Supervisor
- Preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation for assigned finishing tasks
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability finishing equipment
The ideal Finishing Rewind Operator candidate must demonstrate :
- Attention to detail, effective time management, and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, as well as read a ruler
- Self-motivation, being able to work with little supervision at times
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization
Education, Skills, and Experience for Finishing Rewind Operator :
- Required : High school diploma or equivalent; computer skills / knowledge
- Required : Can perform heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent pushing and pulling heavy items, often lifting / carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Required : Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language
- Preferred : One or more years of relatedflexographic printing experience
- A Plus : Experience working with lean manufacturing
