CAQ Manager, Partner Relations for Accounting+

Summary of Role

The Partner Relations Manager will support CAQ's Accounting+ initiative, a marketing campaign aimed at changing diverse students' misperceptions about accounting.

The Partner Relations Manager will support the VP of Operations and Talent Initiatives, in expanding prospective and strengthening existing partnerships for the Accounting+ campaign.

In addition to managing relationships with our valued Accounting+ partners, this position coordinates and supports external partnerships and assists with partner program implementation.

The Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, including a classroom volunteer initiative where accounting professionals from partner organizations and accounting firms are matched with high school classrooms across the country.

Management of this project will include generation of reports and implementation of regular reporting cycles; partner engagement and research;

coordinating proposals; managing contractual relations; and development of presentations to communicate impact of the initiative.

CAQ is a nonpartisan public policy organization serving as the voice of U.S. public company auditors and matters related to the audits of public companies.

To achieve our mission, we :

  • Convene capital market stakeholders to advance the discussion of critical issues affecting audit quality, U.S. public company reporting, and investor trust in the capital markets;
  • Informed by independent research and analyses, champion policies and standards that bolster and support the effectiveness and responsiveness of U.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Partnership Engagement and Retention

  • Serve as the primary "Accounting+" partnership liaison for the CAQ. Responsible for fostering ongoing relationships while identifying and cultivating new partnerships.
  • Support the VP, Operations and Talent Initiative to increase commitment and engagement of current partners.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward new partnerships through research and relationship building, and develop a portfolio of Accounting+ partner prospects.
  • Perform research analysis to provide summarized reports for partnership engagement.
  • Partner with our internal communications and marketing teams to create and deliver personalized communication and engagement plans for each prospective partner.
  • Provide written communications and reports to funding partners and staff.
  • Leverage new and existing events to recruit prospects.
  • Utilize CAQ's subject matter experts and organizational representatives to further relationships with supporters and prospects.
  • Maintain partner information and data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Track member engagements and touchpoints in Salesforce, and in a newly developed 'Catalyst by Blackbaud' platform, to generate reports, identify trends, and drive positive business outcomes.

Project Management

  • Coordinate contracts with funders and partners, overseeing contractual commitments throughout project implementation.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Manager, Administration and Finance to monitor expenditures of partnership funds.
  • Provide administrative support to the VP, Operations & Talent Initiatives, including maintaining calendar, scheduling and coordinating all meetings, and drafting and managing follow-up.
  • Assists in providing customer support for in-person and virtual events, registration support, and coordinating logistics for conferences, meetings, registrations, and events.

Presentations and Data Visualization

  • Develop visually compelling presentations to communicate key performance metrics, trends, and insights to stakeholders and partners.
  • Interpret and distill research and data points into actionable insights through intuitive visualization techniques.

  • Demonstrated customer relations / sales / account management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a track record showing initiative and ownership of work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled with project management; able to use tools such as calendars (e.g., Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint), work plans, and timelines to coordinate meetings and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organization.
  • High level of humility and integrity.
  • Strong client service ethic.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in fundraising, or any related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a value-focused relationship management environment such as membership, gifts fundraising or sales support experience.
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, notably Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media & emerging online channels.
