We are seeking a Grant Accountant for a position in the Union County, NJ area. The individual will be part of a team that is primarily responsible for conducting financial analysis and coordinating the formulation of budgets.
This role also involves monitoring and facilitating long-term planning, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and sponsor policies.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct extensive financial analysis, projects, and statistical studies to inform budget formulation.
- Coordinate the preparation of unit budgets based on organization's performance, estimated revenue, expense reports, and historical budget data.
- Support the annual budget preparation process.
- Conduct financial consultations with project Principal Investigators to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments in line with program changes.
- Monitor the progress of subawards to ensure they are in line with the planned objectives.
- Review and approve departmental expenditures to ensure they are in line with the budget and allowable according to sponsor policy and compliance.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure they align with the organization's objectives.
- Process and resolve customer inquiries relating to financial matters.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Perform essential accounting functions related to grant accounting.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Proficient in executing Accounting Functions.
- Experienced in Grant Accounting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
