About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Labor and Delivery (L&D) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Required Certifications : ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP (RNC preferred) Must-Have : High Risk OB / Triage / OR Circulating, Surgical Admission and Recovery Skills Job Description : Work in a unit with 11 Labor & Delivery beds, 7 antepartum / high risk beds, 2 OR suites, 3 triage beds, and 24 postpartum beds.
- Participate in approximately 4000 births per year.- Maintain patient ratios in accordance with AWHONN guidelines to the best of the unit's ability.
- Handle common diagnoses such as pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, pre-term labor, advanced maternal age, and substance abuse disorders.
- Titrate medications, specifically Pitocin and Insulin drips.- Collaborate with a charge nurse, CNAs, and surgical techs.
- Work in a facility with OB / Neonatologist in-house 24 / 7 and NICU Advanced practice providers available.- Utilize respiratory therapy equipment for NICU.
- Read electronic fetal monitoring strips; use Centricity Perinatal EFM System.- Adhere to scheduling requirements, including weekends and holidays, with potential call / standby shifts.
- Follow hospital scrubs and dress code policy.- Participate in unit / department specific orientation.- Complete charting using Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR.
