OUR SCHOOL : Our teacher-student ratio is 1 : 4. We currently have 14 students. Candidates for the Preschool Lead Teacher position should exhibit creativity and adaptability to engage and keep the attention of their young students effectively.
The ability to communicate clearly with students and their parents is also a vital quality, along with patience and the energy necessary to keep up with small children on a daily basis.

OUR CALENDAR AND HOURS : Our program is year-round with paid holidays and a paid two-week Summer and Winter break. We observe all federal and state holidays.
School hours are 7 : 30 am-5 : 30 pm Monday through Friday. Our Teacher shifts are 7 : 30 am - 4 : 30 pm or 8 : 30 am - 5 : 30 pm with the potential to change.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Strong knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children
- A patient and supportive approach to the learning process
- Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities in line with the school curriculum
- Supervise, guide, and mentor teacher assistants
- Engage and support young children in curriculum activities
- Foster a positive and healthy learning environment
- Facilitate positive child guidance and behavior management
- Maintains a clean and safe classroom environment (including cleaning, sterilizing toys, changing areas, kitchen areas, outdoors, etc.)
- Read stories to the children as a group activity
- Encourage creative thinking and learning
- Interact with other teachers and administrative staff as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teaching
- Serves as a role model to child learners.
- Adheres to school processes and protocols.
- Provides caregiving including diapering and napping
- Works in partnership with the teaching team and parents to provide the best care for each child
- Records observations and assessments
- Communicates developmental information to parents and other teachers
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's and / or Site Supervisor Permit
- Knowledgeable about child development and early childhood education
- Enthusiastic, organized, and reliable
- Communicates well with teachers and parents
- Knowledge of child assessment tools such as ECERS / ITERS, ASQ's, and Desired Results
- Is flexible and takes initiative
- Loving, warm, energetic, responsible, and punctual
- Loves working with young children, particularly young children through age 5.
- Committed to lifelong learning and continuing professional development
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- AA degree or certificate in early childhood education or equivalent
- Valid Child Development Teacher's Permit
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Enjoys working with preschool-aged children
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in curriculum activities, and lift up to 50 pounds
- At least three years prior experience in a preschool classroom
- Negative TB Test
- DOJ Background / Fingerprint Clearance
- CPR and First Aid Certification
