Pipeline is organized exclusively for charitable, faith-based and educational purposes that bridge the gap and more closely connect the community with its participants, empowering them towards independence and a self-sufficiency that promotes their health, happiness and financial stability in society.

The Pipeline to God Board of Directors is growing. We are reaching into our community and looking for those who are skilled in fundraising.

You will assist with organizational input in developing fundraising events and donor response. Other fundraising areas include :

Focused Skills & Responsibilities

• Help motivate and mobilize Board members and other volunteers to engage in fundraising solicitations and other activities
• Design, develop and maintain strong strategies to nurture / maintain relationships with major prospects and donors
• Meeting with potential donors and funders to make a case for funding, answer questions, and identify connections that can benefit the organization
• Selling tickets to fundraising events; Recruiting sponsors; Supporting the fundraising plan and Working with staff to support and influence the organization's fundraising efforts
• Develop long range plans for donor engagement and involvement
• Explore / apply new methodologies for ongoing fundraising success (social media and events, online)
• Identifying new donors, including organizations and grant-making institutions
• Ensuring transparency of donor contributions to match the agency mission and values, legally and otherwise

Board Member Roles & Responsibilities :

As the governing body of Pipeline to God, the board is responsible for :

• Determining the mission and purpose of the organization
• Supporting and evaluating the performance of the Executive Director
• Organizational strategic planning and oversight
• Ensuring strong financial management and fiduciary oversight, minimizing risks for the organization
• Supporting fundraising efforts and resource development
• Serving as an ambassador for the organization, enhancing the organization’s public image
• Ensuring the legal and ethical integrity of the organization

Individual board member expectations :

• Attend all regularly scheduled and special board meetings and actively participate in proceedings.
• Actively serve and contribute on at least one board committee
• Make a meaningful financial contribution to the organization according to individual means.
• Solicit various forms of support and resources for the organization
• Share resources and talents with the organization including expertise, contacts, and ideas
• Maintain and promote high ethical standards including good-faith board decision making and avoid actual or perceived conflicts of interest with other activities, interests, and / or organizations
• Uphold the legal duties and laws regarding nonprofit governance

Desired Skills & Experience :

Ideal Pipeline to God board members :

• Passionate about the mission of Pipeline to God
• Lives in Northeast Ohio (preferred)
• Willing to share professional and personal experiences for the benefit of Pipeline to God
• Can commit at least 3-6 hours per month to the organization
• Able to donate or raise a meaningful annual contribution to the organization
• Communicative and engaged
• Ability to serve at least one full 2-year term as a board member
