Position Overview :
Plans and implements specific Occupational Therapy programs for patients according to principles and practices of occupational therapy.
Serves as a resource and provides structured educational opportunities within the hospital in area(s) of specialization.

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's : Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association with a B.
S. or B.A. degree. or equivalent education / experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN :
Must have at least 3 years recent experience in specialty and possession of current advance specialization or certification in one or more of the following :
Hand Therapy
Physical Agent Modalities
Swallowing Assessment
Coursework and training to support provision of Lymphedema Therapy
Must have 5 years recent experience and 30 units of concentrated study in an area that directly enhances the lines of service provided by SMCSR.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Language skills ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical skills ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Demonstrates advanced clinical skills in specialty area.
Leadership skills / aptitude or supervisory experience.
Ability to mentor / precept new and existing staff members and / or students in gaining knowledge and skill within their specialty area.
Ability to demonstrate competence in using specialized equipment appropriate to the area of clinical practice.
Ability to develop, and / or present a patient teaching class or staff educational in-service (oral and written).

Pay Range is $52.30 to $70.26 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
