Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Physical Therapist (Full-Time), to join our Outpatient Therapy program in our Malvern, PA & Glen Mills, PA clinics.

This is a salaried position with full-time benefits for 40-hours worked per week with an Evening requirement. Dual state licensure required for patient care at Nemours / Alfred I Dupont Hospital for Children, Bryn Mawr or Glen Mills based on staffing / census.

We recently completed a multi-phase hospital expansion that includes new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department.

Additionally, Nemours duPont Pediatrics allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.

Provides physical therapy evaluations, interventions and patient / family education. Will establish and maintain appropriate documentation and communication with medical and clinical staff and outside agencies within the guidelines designated by state licensure, the department and Delaware Valley policies and procedures.

Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages : pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.
  • Able to provide physical therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his / her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
  • Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
  • Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
  • Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home / school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.
  • Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral / authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.
  • Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training.
  • Participates in triage and coverage planning as necessary to meet patient care and departmental needs.
  • When required by assignment, participates in weekend / holiday inpatient coverage rotation, including checking the code blue cart per guideline .24.
  • Team Work : Participates in conflict identification and resolution. Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams.

Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment.

Professional Development : Independently seeks to expand clinical knowledge and evidenced based practice through literature reviews, inservices, courses and mentorships.

May provide input on new treatment intervention strategies to ensure evidenced-based and current practices.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is entry-level.
  • Minimum of 3-6 months experience required.
  • Valid State of Pennsylvania Physical Therapist License required upon hire.
  • Must obtain a Delaware Physical Therapy License. Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment.

A second license will be required for all clinical positions.

  • AHA BLS / CPR certification (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) required within 6 months of employment and must be maintained for duration of employment.
  • Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, state PT association) preferred.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Experience in orthopedics and sports is preferred.
