Description

SHIFT : FRI-SUN 11 PM-11 : 30 AM / FULL-TIME / 36 HOURS

LOCATION : EMORY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MIDTOWN

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) for diagnostic purposes.
• Performs routine, portable, operating room or flouroscopy exams.
• Provides quality patient care, positions patient and adjusts equipment to produce high quality images.
• Communicates and explains various procedures to the patient / family.
• Takes precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation.
• Properly operates, mobilizes and positions equipment.
• Sets exposure factors and uses appropriate techniques and protocols.
• Cleans equipment and stocks procedure rooms.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and advises supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
• Effectively communicates with patients, family and other health care team members.
• Explains procedures to patients / families to reduce their anxiety and to obtain patient cooperation.
• Provides quality care to all patients having radiologic procedures. Performs radiologic studies for assigned patients.
• Sets up procedure rooms including equipment and supplies.
• Positions patient on examining table and obtains optimum radiologic images.
• Performs routine, portable, operating room, and fluoroscopic procedures to produce radiologic images.
• Seeks assistance when needed / required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and at a minimum be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or be registry eligible.
• If registry eligible they must complete and pass the registry within one (1) year of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
