Security Program Manager

Position Summary :

The Security Program Manager is responsible for safeguarding the assets, residents, and staff of MWHS by developing, implementing, and managing safety and security programs.

This role involves conducting risk assessments, coordinating security systems, and responding to security incidents to ensure a safe living environment.

The Security Program Manager works closely with law enforcement, conducts investigations, enforces security policies, develops relationships, and provides training to residents and staff on safety and security best practices.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions :

• Oversees the work of MWHS's security vendor including, but not limited to assigning, planning, and reviewing work, evaluation work performance through formal evaluations, coordinating activities, maintaining standards, and ensuring positive relationships.
• Works with the Portfolio Administrator to plan, coordinate and evaluate all community safety programs.
• Develops and recommends policies, procedures, programs and activities to improve MWHS safety policies and practices.
• Reviews properties and evaluates security issues and identifies potential safety problem areas. Recommends corrective actions as appropriate.
• Works with staff and local law enforcement to provide training and staff development t opportunities regarding crime prevention and awareness.
• Reviews agency cameras and lighting to ensure appropriate installation and placement. Acts as a liaison between MWHS and local law enforcement;

develops and maintains positive relationships with local law enforcement. This includes reaching out to both Lakewood and west Denver departments.

The Candidate :

• Strong understanding of security systems and technologies, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, and emergency response protocols.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to housing and security, particularly as they pertain to public housing.
• Crisis management and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing rules and regulations.

Desired Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field is preferred.

Relevant experience may substitute for education

• 3-5 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Prior experience working in affordable housing, government agency, or similar environment is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
