POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for preparing or assisting in the preparation of the foods offered in the prepared foods department
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Prepares all food items per written recipe and quantity needed per written prep list
- Follows portion and quality control standards of the menu
- Ensures all leftover or unused food products are stored, restocked, or disposed of properly
- Examines and uses dated labels, stores incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately
- Maintains work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations
- Works efficiently and safely in a busy environment
- Assists customers in a timely and professional manner
- Abides by proper food handling and preparation guidelines
- Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
- Keeps a positive and helpful attitude during length of shift
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
- Culinary or food service experience, including knife skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate efficiently with previous / latter shifts to streamline function and quality of hot bar
- Proper phone etiquette while taking orders and messages
