Responsibilities

Revolution is now hiring for a Transportation Manager in Terre Haute, IN. This position will ensure full compliance with DOT, as well as manage a variety of delivery activities in an accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

The successful candidate will manage personnel / office staff, as well as interface with various departments and customers.

Customer service and on-time delivery are keys to success.

• Manage drivers’ activities and ensure drivers are meeting and following Revolutions expectations and policies and performing to a level that meets client expectations and needs.
• Ensure driver payroll is accurate and submitted timely.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and analysis to showcase key metrics, with the ability to improve the existing reporting.
• Ensure a safe working environment and equipment for drivers, including, but not limited to, ensuring drivers are complying with applicable federal, state, and local safety laws and requirements.
• Interviews prospective drivers and make recommendations on hiring decisions.
• Conducts driver 30- and 60-day performance review.
• Coordinate services provided to customers including, but not limited to, employee and customer schedules, to maximize profits.
• Schedule and direct drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
• Manage assigned fleet of tractors and drivers for on-time pickup and delivery performance, out of route miles, hours of service compliance, home time, special routing needs, and cost control.
• Work with drivers to reduce turnover and promote longevity of workforce.
• Identify and address any driver performance issues through the use of coaching and discipline, including termination, as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Expert experience in managing the transportation functions at manufacturing site with a substantial employment history.
• Capability to work within a team environment and be individually motivated to accomplish goals and objectives is essential.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft office.
• Demonstrate a familiarity of the products, modes of transport, and methods of handling dry bulk materials.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• This position will support multiple shifts and must be able to maintain a flexible schedule.
