Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels / vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft / vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels / vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.

Required Qualifications / Skills

Electrical and electronics engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment, including communications systems, electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, and wiring in shipboard systems.

Successful candidates will demonstrate :

• Bachelor's level degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience as an Electrical Engineer or Electronics Engineer with specific experience in :
• Electrical and electronic equipment and systems integration design, including the consideration / analysis of power generation, conversion, and distribution, illumination, interior and exterior communications, navigation, control systems, networks, Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, and other electrical and electronic systems.
• Analysis, calculations and verification of designs for electrical and electronic systems
• Current Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications / Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under project deadlines.
• Experience supporting test and evaluation of maritime electrical and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include one or more of the following in support of watercraft engineering and marine services :

• Electrical and electronic equipment and systems integration design, including the consideration / analysis of power generation, conversion, and distribution, illumination, interior and exterior communications, navigation, control systems, networks, Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, and other electrical and electronic systems.
• Analysis, calculations and verification of designs for electrical and electronic systems.
