CNC Operator - Wixom, MI

Kelly has partnered with a customer in Wixom, MI and seeking a 1st Shift CNC Operator to join their team!

Location : Wixom, MI

Type : Temporary (6-month role)

Pay Rate : $25 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Edit programs and set up CNC lathes
• Operate CNC lathes according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure correct machining operations
• Inspect parts to meet quality control standards
• Utilize the Epicor inventory system to manage CNC work orders
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machine shop equipment
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in the machine shop area
• Actively participate in departmental and company meetings
• Adhere to company policies, safety regulations (OSHA and MIOSHA), and quality standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of specialized technical training or trade school in CNC machining or a related field
• 3 years of experience operating CNC lathes and related equipment
• Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
• Familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software
• Experience with Epicor or similar inventory management systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements :

• Prolonged periods of standing, using fingers and hands to manipulate objects
• Occasional lifting, bending, reaching, and talking / hearing
• Infrequent periods of sitting

Equipment Used :

• CNC lathes (computerized numeric control)
• Manual collet lathes, bridge ports
• Desktop and laptop computers, printers, copiers
• Various hand tools such as Allen wrenches, wrenches, hammers
