Responsibilities of a Dietary Cook :
Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences.
Ensure that all meals are nutritious, visually appealing, and meet quality standards.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and reduce waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and utensils.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist with menu planning and development in collaboration with the dietary team.
Handle food storage, inventory management, and ordering of supplies as needed.
Respond to resident feedback and adjust meal preparation as required.
Qualifications of a Dietary Cook :
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is a plus.
Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Good communication skills and a compassionate attitude towards residents.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
