Soliant is seeking a compassionate and skilled School SLI to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting students' academic and personal growth by facilitating effective communication.
Job Description : As a School SLI with Soliant, you will :
- Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in the classroom setting.
- Support students' understanding of educational material and classroom discussions.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Job Responsibilities :
- Interpret classroom instruction and activities using American Sign Language (ASL).
- Assist students in understanding and participating in classroom activities.
- Support teachers in implementing effective communication strategies.
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet the needs of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and performance.
Qualifications :
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
