SUMMARY

The basic function of the Electrical Journeyman is to work with the Foreman, Supervisor / Project Manager, and the General Contractor to ensure the success, professionalism, and the quality of electrical work, of the assigned project(s).

This position can also be assigned to smaller jobs as the supervisor of that job.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Conduct all repairs and installations according to current NEC code.
• Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings for installations.
• Respond to service calls quickly and within expected timeframes, reporting any issues / change orders to the Project manager.
• Minimizes punch list items (Completes final trim out and check lists)
• Perform job duties in a professional and courteous manner consistent with ACTION ELECTRIC goals and objectives
• Adhere to the ACTION ELECTRIC Employee Manual
• As necessary, interface with clients at project site in manner consistent with ACTION ELECTRIC goals and objectives
• Interface with other contractors at project site in a manner consistent with ACTION ELECTRIC goals and objectives
• Look for opportunities to increase services with existing clients and notify Project Manger
• Ensure worker safety at project site
• Evaluate site conditions (for safety issues)
• Ensure materials and personnel are available to complete project on time and under / within budget
• Attend necessary progress meetings
• Reports to the Service Manager / Project Manager, as appropriate, necessary project information, which includes;
• Necessary change orders
• Personnel needs or issues
• Client issues
• Potential marketing opportunities

• Knowledge of worker safety requirements and implementation methods.
• Excellent work ethic with the ability to work in groups and independently.
• Ability to motivate, supervise and work well with other project personnel.
• Excellent communication skills with Supervisors, Foreman, Project Managers, General Contractors and customers.
• Ability to get things done timely and accurately.
• Drive to ensure closure to tasks and projects.
• Detailed knowledge of electrical distribution methods.
• Detailed knowledge of drawing protocols and methods.
• Detailed knowledge of applicable codes, which include :
• State electrical code

QUALFICATIONS

Experience : 4-5 years electrical experience

• Valid driver's license
• Must have your own set of tools and safety gear
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to understand and speak the English language. Bilingual in the Spanish language a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Low to moderate computer skills. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Position will require employee to obtain a State of South Dakota and a City of Sioux Falls Journeyman’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Body Movements Use of hands, arms and eyes. Repetitive movements are applicable to this position.
• Physical Requirements Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job in order to perform the duties that require manual labor, such as lifting, hauling, pushing and climbing, and routinely lift 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment will involve working both in an indoor and outdoor environment. Employee will be subject to various weather conditions.
