Job Summary and Qualifications
The technologist is responsible for performing routine and complex echocardiography and vascular duplex ultrasound procedures.
Examinations performed may include, but are not limited to, trans-thoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiograms, carotid duplex, peripheral venous and arterial exams to the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography, American College of Radiology and Medical City North Hills.
Candidate should also demonstrate interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively instruct patients and to maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
What you will do :
- Supports HCA Code of Conduct. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organizational mission and goals.
- Ensures patients / personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety and Infection control programs.
- Supports hospital and departmental Performance and Improvement goals.
- Proficiency in the performance of echocardiograms and vascular diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain appropriate Echo / Vascular lab records on a daily basis.
- Interact effectively with patients and medical / technical professionals in a fast-paced environment.
What qualifications you will need :
- One-year clinical experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an approved program of echocardiography and vascular technology / sonography, non- invasive cardiovascular technology or equivalent education and training.
- Echo registered / registry eligible with ARDMS or CCI. Registry must be obtained within one year of hire date
- Vascular technologist must be RVT / RVS with ARDMS or CCI
- Current BLS from AHA or ARC
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
