Responsibilities
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.
We are seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer to join our team at PeopleTec. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a small team on a broad range of projects, both in laboratory and advanced manufacturing environments, challenging you to learn and grow in your career.
Collaborating with other designers, test engineers, and manufacturing experts, you will apply your education, experience, and expertise to develop and evaluate innovative technologies designed to thrive in rugged military environments.
You will work with a team to mature these technologies to production for high-reliability DoD applications.
Duties :
- Design, test, and evaluate custom digital IP blocks for implementation in ASIC or FPGA hardware.
- Develop PCBs and work with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
- Participate in physical test planning for lab and environmental testing.
- Work with a team to develop system designs and firmware for components.
- Conduct testing and characterization on IP and system level designs.
- Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, develop specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
- Develop, test, and evaluate new and innovative technology solutions for survival in DoD-relevant hostile environments.
Qualifications
Required Skills / Experience :
- Digital design / engineering experience for military environments
- Experience with advanced semiconductor technology nodes
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements
- Experience developing and reviewing engineering drawings and / or specifications
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging digital systems
- Experience in IP design and security verification
- Experience with PCB design, including schematic development, layout development, working with PCB houses for fabrication / assembly, and testing
- Travel : 10 %
- Final SECRET (or higher) clearance valid within 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Vetting (CV) - an active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work.
Candidates must have an active SECRET clearance upon hire, with the ability to be nominated for and granted access to additional programs, and must maintain this level of clearance throughout their employment
Must be a . Citizen
Education Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of professional experience
Desired Skills :
- Experience developing and meeting ASIC / FPGA design requirements
- Experience with development in Verilog and / or VHDL for traditional and non-traditional designs
- Experience with cryptographic IP development or integration
- Experience in digital design flow from requirements development through functional verification
- Experience with verification tools and methods such as equivalence checking
- Experience with advanced semiconductor technology nodes
- DOD Top Secret clearance
