Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the company-wide equity plan, preparing and / or reviewing appropriate account entries and account reconciliations, and will assist in managing Cap Table, beneficiary ownership table, CD&A for annual proxy statement, and monthly and quarterly reconciliation of share balances / reserves between stock plan database system.

The role provides support for SOX compliance and performs quarterly and annual testing on critical controls in place, and assists in investment and other major accounts and transactions.

The Accounting Manager will partner closely with tax, legal, FP&A, as well as a broad group of cross-functional business teams to provide guidance and analysis while developing effective and efficient accounting and reporting processes.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and administrate the stock compensation plan.
  • Assist in preparing the Company's SEC financial reporting on Form 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy, including the creation of auditable support, and leads the analysis of the content.
  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for stock-based compensations, investment and other complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
  • Support SOX compliance testing and document the company's internal control policies and procedures and maintaining the control environment
  • Liaison with the finance department, internal legal counsel, stock plan provider, transfer agent, and external auditors.
  • Management analysis and reports on an as-needed basis
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business-related fields.
  • CPA is required
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in top-tier public accounting firms (Big 4 preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with financial reporting, SEC Reporting, and US GAAP
  • Experience with Workiva or Active Disclosure, E*TRADE EEO, and detailed XBRL tagging referred preferred
  • Experience biotech or healthcare industry preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to be a self-starter, fast learner, and capable of working with limited direction while taking ownership of their areas of responsibility.
  • Leadership experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines
  • Lead experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
  • Strong team player yet able to work independently
  • Outstanding ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multi-task on competing deadlines and effectively adapt to changing priorities
  • Advanced MS Word and Excel skills

Working Environment / Physical Environment

This position works hybrid (combination on site and remote)

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below.

The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.

$125,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $155,000 (highly experienced) annually
