Description
SEWS Ohio Customer Service Center (Marysville) Packaging Engineer I or II BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Standardization of new model packaging evaluation and container selections information. Maintain shared business unit standards of new container testing and instruction.
- Assist in new model packaging evaluations with design and quality engineer. Primary leader for evaluations of special product or new packaging scheme.
- Review all new model changes with and report key safety, cost, and quality indicators to Logistics or affected departments inside the business unit.
Work with project steering team until resolution.
- Maintain product packaging database for multiple department use and for various, ongoing cost-efficiency projects.
- Coordinate production and delivery requirements for container purchasing and develop plan with Logistics and warehouse for semi-annual budgeting objectives.
- Data collection from Customer Service Center delivery and 3PL to analyze overall trends in container surplus or shortage.
Communicate to production planning and Logistics section.
Leader for packaging improvement projects requiring FEU optimization, carton consolidation, or new box design and sourcing.
Coordinate with SWS production planning and logistics for strength and durability testing of new supplier.
Submission of PIF to customer portal. Liase with Sales or Delivery department for significant impacts to customer transportation costs or MOQ setting.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and relevant experience
- 0-5 years of experience
- Excellent communication skills regarding manufacturing and engineering concepts, both written and oral
