About this position
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining referral files of child care centers, preschools and family child care homes in a large geographic area.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing
- Operating referral program for parents, including public referrals, enhanced referrals and CalWORKS referrals;
- Providing technical assistance to current and prospective center and family child care operators, including licensing, educational programs, health standards, etc.;
- Serving as a liaison with other agencies, including licensing authorities, Child Protective Services, Department of Health, Department of Social Services, other resource and referral agencies, etc.;
- Contributing to mini-conferences, workshops, newsletters, and other services;
- Facilitating provider groups;
- Maintaining and operating the resource lending library;
- Representing the organization at licensing orientation meetings, resource and referral network meetings, and other meetings as directed;
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in child development, or a related field (preferred);
- Ability to work well with people, a sensitivity to the needs of children and families;
- Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English;
- Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets;
- Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese (preferred);
- California driver's license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance.

Job specifications
- Reports to the resource and referral department supervisor;
- Full-time, twelve-month work year;
- Eight-hour workday; Four-day work week;
- Opportunity for hybrid-work schedule may be available and to be determined by management;
- Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at organization discretion.
Salary
- $22.41 - $25.95 per hour
