Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

Aurora University is looking for adjunct faculty to work in the addictions track within the BSW and MSW programs, with opportunities to teach across the core curriculum.

As an advanced Accredited Training Program through the Illinois Certification Board, there is a particular need for CADC certified instructors to teach the following courses :

• Drugs and Human Behavior
• Psychopharmacology of Substance Use Disorders
• Addictions Counseling I
• Addictions Counseling II

Teaching Responsibilities

AU faculty should be present and engaged in courses by doing the following :

• Facilitate courses in person at the Aurora campus.
• Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date grade books.
• Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.
• Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.
• Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

An MSW degree, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification (in Illinois), and a minimum of five years of professional experience are required.

Weekday availability is preferred, as BSW courses are offered in a cohort structure on either M / W / F or T / Th, although there may be future opportunities for evening and online courses.

Experience teaching is strongly preferred.
