As the Flight Control Business Unit Manager at Whippany Actuation Systems, you'll lead a cross-functional team in manufacturing, planning, engineering, and quality to drive new business, nurture customer relationships, and achieve profit targets.
Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, you'll work closely with senior management, including the President, in a role key to our succession path toward senior leadership positions.

In this role, you would typically :
- Develop and execute a Business Unit strategy to achieve value creation and growth targets;
- Prepare and execute a comprehensive annual business plan;
- Directly manage Program Management and Business Development staff and lead a multi-functional business unit team;
- Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the organization to customer / business needs;
- Lead the business unit team to optimize business performance, employee engagement and professional development;
- Oversee all business unit contract review and negotiation activities, which includes developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers;
- Contribute to the departmental planning and budget process to ensure that the necessary resources are identified and approved.
We require :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Five years' experience of demonstrated outside sales or business development experience;
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time;
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Eligibility Requirements :
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.
S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.
Desired Characteristics :
- Technical degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience selling to aircraft OEMs, prime contractors, tier-1 suppliers, government agencies, airlines, and MRO shops.
- Self-starter that excels in an entrepreneurial ownership culture.
