Position Summary

The Maintenance Engineer I will serve as a subject matter expert in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This position supports production maintenance and utilities at the Davie site for 24x7 manufacturing operations.

The role involves working under general supervision to execute routine assignments and developing competence by performing structured work tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, performing upgrades, and supporting both technical troubleshooting and project management efforts.

Core Essential Skill Sets

  • Minimum 1 year of automation experience.
  • Ability to perform automated equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience in upgrading or modifying equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Educational background in engineering (Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or Associate’s degree with 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing facility).

Essential Areas of Responsibility

  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Perform routine assignments and develop competence by working on structured tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment to support continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Execute planned maintenance and corrective work orders on various equipment and utilities.
  • Support multiple small projects related to new equipment installations, upgrades, and facility modifications.
  • Update technical documents, SOPs, and change controls as necessary.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to resolve complex technical issues and provide ongoing support.
  • Implement safe work practices and process controls to ensure safe operations, including conducting job hazard analyses and risk assessments.

Position Requirements

Education / Certification / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Associate’s degree with 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing facility.
  • 1-3 years of automation experience.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities.
  • PLC experience or certification is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Operational Excellence and compliance-related documentation experience is a plus.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities :

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software used in SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
