Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : An integral member of the obstetrical teamwho assists the staff in the care of the obstetrical patient byperforming delegated tasks to provide basic nursing care topatients and support for surgeons throughout operativeprocedures.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High schooldiploma or equivalent.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : BLScertification required.
SKILLS : Completion ofcompetency based skills checklist.
EXPERIENCE : One year NursingAssistant experience preferred and / or completion of NursingAssistant course within one year.
Two years hospital experiencepreferred.

Responsible to : Manager, Women’s Services

Bloodborne pathogen C
Works irregular hours. Multiplesimultaneous activities around patient care. Exposure to infectiousdiseases and x-rays. Subject to varying unpredictablesituations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to handle emergency / crisis situations.Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing / walking.
Hasknowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Occasionally lifts,positions, pushes and / or transfers patients or equipment.
Hearingand visual acuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and finemotor coordination required.
