Assistant Facilities Manager

Position Summary :

The Assistant Facilities Manager will oversee preventative maintenance and routine repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Managerial Responsibilities :

  • Assist in training facilities department staff.
  • Use of maintenance software to manage work load

Overall Responsibilities :

  • Ensures facilities preventative maintenance program is followed.
  • Coordinates with facilities team members to complete projects.
  • Utilizes software to track routine repairs and maintenance.
  • Responds to emergency situations as they arise.
  • Does daily walk through inspections of restaurants to identify any potential issues.
  • Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
  • Acts as liaison between facility staff and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility.
  • Participates on emergency preparedness planning.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills Required :

  • Requires a hands-on, self-starter that has a clear aptitude for the systems, mechanics, and structural components of commercial buildings and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and quickly prioritize and resolve issues based on severity and impact
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive & Documents.
  • Working knowledge of automated facilities software
  • Bi-lingual English Spanish strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of restaurant buildings and food / kitchen equipment preferred

Education and Experience Required :

  • At least three years of related facility and managerial experience required
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electric and plumbing systems
  • Five years of experience working in a restaurant environment

General Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
