Job Duties
- Support automation projects to install, maintain, repair, test, and troubleshoot complex automated equipment.
- Implement process improvement initiatives and / or cross functional team projects
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and controls problems.
- Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read / write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnosis problems.
- Use camera vision inspection.
- Taking ownership of assigned projects and driving them to completion while working independently or as part of a team
- Implementing engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment / process issues. Implementing Continuous Improvement
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks as needed.

- Partner with vendors to implement best in class electrical / controls solutions
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Entry-Level Position : 0-2 years of experience in automation, robotics, or a similar field, including internships or co-op programs.
- PLC Programming : Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.
- Robotics : Experience with industrial robots from manufacturers like ABB, FANUC, or KUKA.
- Control Systems : Understanding of SCADA systems, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design, and data acquisition.
- Sensors and Actuators : Knowledge of different types of sensors (proximity, temperature, pressure) and actuators used in automation.
- Electrical Systems : Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring, and components related to automation equipment.
- Safety Standards : Understanding of OSHA regulations, machine safety standards, and risk assessments.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour Certification for safety compliance.
- Preferred Certifications :
- Certified Automation Professional (CAP) from the International Society of Automation (ISA).
- Siemens Certified Automation Technician or equivalent certification from other PLC manufacturers.
- Robotics Technician Certificate from a recognized institution or manufacturer.
- ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST).
- CAD Software : Experience with Auto CAD or SolidWorks for designing automation systems.
- PLC Software : Familiarity with programming software like RS Logix, TIA Portal, or Studio 5000.
- Experience in leading small teams or projects, including coordination of tasks and delegation of responsibilities.
- Ability to train and mentor junior technicians or apprentices
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for creating reports, documentation, and presentations.
