The Employee Relations team sits in Employee Success where we work closely with various stakeholders across the business, i.

e., employment law and our compliance legal teams. We collaborate with and support our HR Business Partners as well as provide coaching and consulting to our people leaders and to all Elasticians to enhance and promote a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Provides analysis and resolution of employee concerns with increasing complexity, visibility and risk related to policy or code violations while collaborating with managers, legal, HR and other relevant stakeholders.

Effectively evaluates all aspects and makes recommendations from a position of neutrality.

  • Proactively identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement in employee relations, and develop proactive strategies to address and mitigate potential risks.
  • Coach and consult with people managers to proactively identify performance opportunities or concerns through systematic tools and clear communication.
  • Provide management coaching and training where needed on topics from performance management and critical conversations to delivering feedback and developing employees and teams.
  • Play a key role in the development roll out of new initiatives and projects that support manager excellence.
  • Deliver relevant business solutions, tools, and resources to support and positively shape the Employee Relations experience.
  • Ensure data integrity and analysis beyond the data. You help tell a story through the data which allows the team to gain insight and trends to actively engage with our managers and teams.
  • Partner with the Learning team to design, facilitate, and scale Manager Training that aligns with the Elastic way.
  • Drive consistencies in investigations, Performance Plans, Absence Management, Unemployment, and Grievance issues as required.
  • Partners with internal and external legal counsel as needed to ensure alignment with Elastic approach and state and local laws as required.

Qualifications :

  • You have a passion about employee relations and you realize the importance of providing an exceptional employee experience.
  • You feel comfortable and work well within ambiguity and have an excitement about building out new programs and processes.
  • You have a desire to initiate, implement and launch plans of action.
  • You feel comfortable working autonomously but understand the importance and need for collaboration with your team members and relevant stakeholders.
  • You feel comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization.
  • You have 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years focus on Employee Relations.
  • You have extensive experience with coaching and developing managers and handling employee related issues.
  • You have direct employee relations investigation experience to include all aspects of investigation and resolution of complex issues.

Global investigations experience is a plus.

  • Capable of building strong relationships and rapport with leadership teams, global HR colleagues, employee representatives and external advisors.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable local, state and federal US laws, regulations, policies.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, policy development, negotiation planning & implementation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and lead multiple activities, projects and priorities across time-zones and geographies.
  • Proven experience leading, decision making, documenting, and delivering solid, defensible ER investigation reports.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or other related field (Master's degree preferred).

Compensation :

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is :

$128,200 - $202,900 USD

The typical starting salary range for this role in select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area) is :

$153,800 - $243,300 USD

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders.

Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
