J ob Title : Marketing Specialist (Photography, Video and Social Media)
Department : Communications & Marketing
FSLA : Exempt
Reports To : Director of Communications and Marketing
Summary
The Marketing Specialist is a key member of the Communications and Marketing Department and will create and manage multimedia content across various platforms including but not limited to photography, video and graphics that is engaging and helps tell the ECU story.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit photos and videos using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Photography responsible for ensuring all campus events are capture throughout the year.
- Ability to schedule and mentor student workers to take photo and / or video at all campus events
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends)
- Manage, organize and maintain photo galleries using third-party site
- Assist with managing the university’s YouTube channel.
- Maintain photo and video equipment and recommend updating or replacement as necessary.
- Assist managing and create content for university social media platforms
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Desired Skills :
- Demonstrated proficiency in video and photo editing and a familiarity with a variety of editing software.
- Ability to design and create visually compelling graphics for social media, websites, and other digital platforms using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
- Creative and analytical thinker.
- Demonstrates willingness and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and techniques that support evolving needs.
- Experience creating content and managing social media platforms
- Strong editing, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Ability to successfully communicate and interact with all campus populations including students, faculty and staff.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education : A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A degree in digital media, marketing, computer science or communications is preferred.
Experience : Two years of experience
