Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Requirements / Experience / Background :

• Perform routine troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on production and ancillary equipment to support equipment uptime and reduce equipment downtime;
• plan, setup, breakdown, and execute the repair or preventive maintenance;
• Locate sources of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrument related equipment issues through problem solving techniques;
• works effectively with equipment operators and other maintenance personnel to identify problem root causes;
• Work independently and with others to repair and fix equipment problems and issues;
• Provide rapid feedback to supervisor and other appropriate individuals of issues that require escalation or may affect the planned repair and start-up of equipment;
• Ensure parts room is clean and organized; check inventory; coordinate with engineers and others on ordering parts;
• Demonstrated ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; work overtime, holidays and during plant shutdowns;
• follow company policies & procedures;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; work effectively with engineers, other department’s members, and contractors;
• use Microsoft products Excel and Word;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment; maintain high level of production and efficiency while focused on working safely;
• shows attention to detail;
• Ability to read for understanding; ability to read and follow diagrams, sketches, blueprints, operations manuals, manufacturer’s manuals, and engineering specifications;
• good understanding of AC / DC electrical power sources in manufacturing facility; accurately complete administrative and reporting requirements;
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience preferred; must have mechanical aptitude; ability to work with physical demands such as bending, squatting, standing, walking, gripping, climbing, pushing & pulling, working underneath or above equipment, lifting and moving materials of 25 to 50 pounds;
• occasionally lifting and moving materials greater than 50 pounds; ability to operate forklift, scissors lift, cranes, etc.;

Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned or expected

Preferred Qualifications :

• Two-year degree in Industrial Technology or any other related field
• Minimum three years’ experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley and / or Mitsubishi) and HVAC a plus.
