Tax Associate REMOTE
One of the largest local CPA firms in the Triad area, established over 70 years ago, is seeking a REMOTE Tax Associate to join their team! This individual will review and analyze federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, fiduciary and nonprofit returns.
They will also identify and resolve discrepancies in tax returns and conduct research on tax issues.
Location : Winston-Salem, NC (fully REMOTE, must live within local NC area)
Hours : Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsibilities :
- Review and analyze federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, fiduciary and nonprofit returns for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct research on tax issues relevant to business entities and stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in Tax Return or documentation.
- Communicate with business clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on tax matters.
- Assist with tax planning and advisory services to minimize tax liabilities for business clients.
- Support Senior Tax Associates and Managers with special projects and audits related to business taxation.
- Review and resolve error messages generated by Ultra Tax software on rejected electronically filed tax returns.
- Work with preparers to provide guidance for correcting issues.
- Offer feedback to staff to help improve their tax knowledge.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and documentation.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
- Prior experience in a Tax-related role or internship focused on business tax returns.
- Strong understanding of Tax laws and regulations, specifically related to business taxation.
- Proficient in Tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is preferred.
