POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of FP&A, this senior level position will be responsible for the preparation of detailed and time sensitive forecasts, reports for senior management and board of directors, analyzing results of forecasts and of actual financial results as well as other special projects and ad hoc reports for senior management.
Requests may be time sensitive with minimal advance notice. The incumbent will be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of company financial and operational performance along with financial and strategic objectives and current trends in the petroleum refining, renewable fuels and nitrogen fertilizer markets.
This position will be involved with and handle non-public proprietary information with strict confidentiality.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of Finance experience
- Energy industry experience required; downstream experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of commodity markets, financial analysis and strategic planning required
- Demonstrated ability to review and interpret commercial and various financial instruments and incorporate the components into the financial models and analyses required
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite required
- Possesses intermediate accounting knowledge and understands interdependencies between major financial statements
- Experience with PowerBI, EPBCS, Marketview, and CapitalIQ preferred
- Ability to build driver-based, complex financial models in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to resolve complex problems
- Ability to articulate complex information to a varied audience clearly and concisely
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to adjust schedule to accommodate unexpected changes
- Ability to travel, as needed
- Fluent in English, both oral and written, required
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and maintain financial models for organic or inorganic opportunities related to petroleum refining, renewables and nitrogen fertilizer
- Develop and publish recurring reports related to commercial activities such as : commodity exposure, hedge performance, and market price reporting and insights
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of commercial and strategic objectives.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze peer / industry data to support strategic and commercial decisions.
- Creation of dashboards relating to operations, markets, and commercial activity
- Present oral and written reports on forecasts, variance analysis, and other required analyses
- Regularly communicate with manager work progress, concerns, questions
