Database Administrator

About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use) :

S&P ThinkFolio is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join a global Database Administration team to support our data management platform used for acquiring, validating, and distributing trade, operational, risk, financial and customer data.

Responsibilities and Impact :

• As a Database Administrator you will Support, Administer, Manage, and Tune multi-terabyte Database Systems that will enable S&P Global Market Intelligence to ingest, manage, process and serve-up Market Data Products.
• In-depth knowledge of MSSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, HA, and security preferably on AWS RDS.

Hands-on knowledge on Postgres SQL will be a plus.

• Expertise in Disaster Recovery plans by configuring Always On, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Replication (Snapshot and Transactional).
• Updating statistics, Rebuilding and Reorganizing indexes, Defrag Tables, Replication, Linked Servers, checking CPU Utilization, Blocking sessions, slow queries, Invalid Objects, Listener log and Database Maintenance Plan.
• Experience in query optimization and performance tuning. Experience in using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor and DBCC Commands.

Knowledge on the Monitoring tools such as Performance Insights, Fog Light and CloudWatch

Person should be open to work in rotational shift including weekends and holidays
