Purpose :
The Senior Portfolio Manager (Power Plants) will provide support for the commercial management of the power plant and battery storage assets owned and operated by the company.
Responsibilities :
Working closely with colleagues from Portfolio & Asset Management, Accounting, and Finance functions, under the guidance of the Director Portfolio & Asset Management, the Senior Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the following activities :
- Assisting in the preparation and reconciliation of monthly invoices to various counterparties.
- Supporting the preparation of annual budgets, proforma, presentations, monthly asset manager reports, and monthly reports to shareholders.
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance with all project permits and licenses, and supporting legal in FERC's registration of management changes.
- Updating and monitoring existing and new agreements such as Resource Adequacy agreements, Power Purchase Agreement, Gas Purchase agreements, Insurance, and Energy Management Agreement.
- Monitoring and controlling project finance / credit agreements, documents, and obligations, including letter of credit, collateral, and parent's guarantee.
- Providing support for plant operational issues, including forced outages, unplanned outages, unbudgeted expenses, and financial impact analysis.
- Reviewing merchant power plant asset data, updating monthly earnings projection, and participating in merchant risk discussions with project partners.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in managing complex financial models using Excel.
- Familiarity with project documents of operating assets / project companies, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive in making continuous improvements, with a strong desire to learn.
- Previous experience in the electric power generation industry, particularly in asset management or operations roles, is preferred.
