The Cryogenics Senior Manager has a pivotal role within CooperSurgical, responsible for the comprehensive management of the company's cryogenic storage facilities and operations.
This includes oversight of multiple business units across at least a dozen locations in the United States, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of various cryogenically preserved biological specimens.
The role demands strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001 standards, and compliance with state, federal, and international regulations.

- Establish and manage metrics measuring compliance with inventory control policies and procedures at all locations.
- Oversee processes for improving and monitoring inventory accuracy, delivery of materials, and removal of obsolete materials from the Biorepository.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective audit and quality control procedures.
- Oversee the distribution process, including coordinating deliveries, maintaining distribution records, and managing vendors.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Stem Cell Operations and Laboratory Operations Staff to coordinate and prioritize biorepository activities for reproductive sperm, donor sperm, donor egg, cord blood, and cord tissue.
- Support business leads in both organic growth and strategic growth opportunities requiring biorepository support.
- Update and maintain Biorepository Standard Operating Procedures.
- Oversee cryogenics safety training for all employees and ensure compliance with safety requirements at all locations.
- Ensure proper quality control in specimen handling and shipping.
- Maintain equipment and storage tanks.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- Establish and oversee Biorepository monitoring and alarm systems.
- Attend various monthly meetings and participate on committees as needed.
- Directly and indirectly supervise employees in the Biorepository and remote locations as directed.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
