Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY :

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Credential Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of the School of Human Development & Education's teaching credential programs.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to supporting students through their credentialing journey.

Reporting directly to the Dean of Human Development & Education, the Credential Analyst will serve as a liaison between students, accreditation agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain program quality and integrity.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED :

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED :

Minimal or no supervisory responsibilities.

Credential Program Management :

  • Analyze, process, and track students’ credential program documents.
  • Communicate progress and status updates to students.
  • Review and recommend students for licensure to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
  • Process applications for out-of-state verifications and supplementary authorizations.
  • Maintain a database aligned with CCTC clinical practice standards.

Student Support and Liaison :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student inquiries regarding credential requirements.
  • Address student questions and concerns about clinical practice and credentialing.
  • Liaise with students, campuses, and other relevant entities regarding credentialing issues.

Program Coordination and Orientation :

  • Collaborate with the CalTPA coordinator to ensure effective program coordination.
  • Assist in organizing and administering orientations for student teachers and interns.
  • Coordinate workshops for CBEST, CSET, and RICA exams.

Compliance and Reporting :

  • Ensure compliance with Pacific Oaks and CCTC standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete Title II, ADS, and other CCTC reports in coordination with the Dean.
  • Assist in completing state and federal data reporting for the CCTC.

Clinical Practice Management :

  • Liaise with County Offices, School Districts, and other entities to facilitate clinical practice placements.
  • Analyze and review student teaching and intern applications.
  • Maintain clinical practice database and update related materials.

Training and Development :

  • Provide regular training sessions on credential and clinical practice requirements.
  • Stay informed about CCTC and accreditation policies through workshops, conferences, and collaboration with peers.

Collaboration and Communication :

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure compliance, quality, and student satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns and maintain good standing with policies and procedures necessary for accreditation.

Other Duties as Assigned :

Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Dean or any members of the Executive Cabinet including the Vice President of Academic Affairs or the President of the Pacific Oaks College

Knowledge of creating, writing, and revising college processes and policies.

Education and Higher Education Administration :

  • Experience working within a department within higher education reviewing student files and analyzing student information.
  • Utilize and learn new technologies where appropriate to support the overall needs of the School and Credentialing program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Education :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with accreditation and credential processes, preferably within Higher Education.
  • 3+ years of experience working specifically as a Credential Analyst in Higher Education is desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and computer-based systems.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Learning Assessment Tool desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to local and remote sites as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quite to moderately noisy while in the office. The office temperature is about 70 degrees.

DECISION MAKING :

The position is governed by the policies of Pacific Oaks, along with established procedures for the department. Independent judgment is required in the supervision of personnel as well as in the carrying out of the department's strategic goals and budget management.

CONTACT RESPONSIBILITIES :

Routine exchange or presentation of information.

Responsible for demonstrating professionalism and leadership in resolving conflicts with students and employees. Recommends alternative approaches to solve problems and conflicts.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY :

This position does not require the management of budgets, but it is required to follow Pacific Oaks policies for purchasing and budget approvals.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $66,560.00-73,170.00 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
