We are a leading manufacturing company looking for an Automation Controls Engineer who can troubleshoot, root cause, and correct plant issues to include automation, robots, and maintenance, and can effectively communicate findings and train others in the repairs as such.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Troubleshooting various robot cells
  • Programming of new product into existing cells
  • Experience interfacing with customers
  • Excellent Microsoft Office 2010 skills, especially Word & Excel
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Detail-oriented individual
  • Manage various automation / equipment projects as required, including preparation of project descriptions and specifications, collection and review of quotations, selection of contractors / vendors, and coordination of contractor / vendor activities
  • Improve reliability and performance of production equipment and implement resultant changes
  • Experience working on projects for suppliers to the major automotive companies
  • Experience doing concepts for automation systems
  • Experience processing different automated assembly methods

What You Need for this Position

  • 4+ years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read PLC and electrical prints
  • Experience with injection molding machines and their function and of robotic controls
  • Engel experience a plus
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as multiplication and division, work with mathematical tools within an electronic spreadsheet for further business case assessments
  • 2+ years' experience in plastics preferred but not required
  • 2+ years' experience in robotics required - Fanuc a plus
  • PLC / Vision programming experience preferred
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
