Our Global Medical business is currently looking for a Manager of Operation Manufacturing to lead the manufacturing operations of a diverse line of Class I and Class II, sterile and non-sterile medical devices as well as molded components in Norfolk, Nebraska .
The Operations Manager, who reports into the Site Director, is responsible for planning and coordination of all plant operations involving production, safety, engineering, planning, continuous improvement, and quality in manufacturing medical device products.
The role requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries.
Utilizing the CAH Manufacturing Operating Standard (CAH MOS), the manager of operations will work closely with site leadership and partner with the Commercial, R&D and Global Supply Chain teams to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success.
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
- Monitor operations for conformance to financial objectives; adjust accordingly when needed. Drive cost savings projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with plant labor force to prevent or resolve problems.
- Provide clear expectations, training and support to department.
- Maintain a high-level accountability to self and department to achieve on time, on budget, and high-quality work.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction through optimum utilization of resources and ongoing evaluation and improvement of methods and systems.
- Direct work priorities and timelines and allocate resources to assure overall goals and timelines are met.
- Develop direct reports, coach, mentor, and handle performance reviews. Implement career development plans.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal safety requirements for the production area and personnel.
- Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed.
- Partner with quality leadership to ensure good quality and cGMP practices and their implementation in manufacturing.
- Drive Continuous Improvement philosophy and practices including but not limited to COS (Cell Operating System), Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, SMED, 6S, and OEE throughout the factory.
- Drive manufacturing strategy and ensure it is aligned with overall plant strategy.
- Partner with other plant leaders and collaborate to find the best possible solution and best practices. Keep abreast of industry best practices and market changes.
- Review and oversee department expansion and capacity and fill in as Site Director as needed.
- Participate in EH&S activities such as : root cause analysis, finding solutions, implementing improvements, inspections, and meetings.
- Complete and remain up to date on required EH&S training.
- Follow all ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA and plant / corporate standards, policies, and procedures.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering or a related field with emphasis on management.
- 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or related field preferred : preferably in a GMP medical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated success in managing people and leading multiple teams and / or departments
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate with all functions and levels within the company, as well as customers, suppliers, and the community
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering, safety systems, automation, machine control, others.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs and align to service needs within a Sales and Operations planning process.
- Strong MS Office skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and / or Access) to analyze data and trends.
- Demonstrated success in achieving results along with strong financial acumen and project management preferred.
Anticipated salary range : $85,100 - $141,055 / year
