Job Summary and Qualifications

The Controller oversees the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include the month-end close of three facility general ledgers and the preparation of the budget for three facilities.

In addition, the Controller ensures the hospital maintains compliance with HCA accounting policy guides and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 hospital key controls as defined by HCA Corporate.

The Controller also maintains ongoing staff training and provides ongoing financial training for all non-financial managers.

What qualifications you will need :

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA designation preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of healthcare accounting experience required
• Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, database software and other financial systems

What you will do in this role :

• Organize, direct, and supervise accounting staff.
• Oversee staff orientation, education and competency programs.
• Manage month end closings and both internal and external audits.
• Ensure financial information and financial reports are consistent with corporate policy and GAAP.
• Coordinate departmental performance and quality programs.
• Review and assist with the preparation of external reports, including CMS, state, federal and local authorities.
• Maintain responsibility for all other daily activities of the Accounting Department and performing special projects as directed by the CFO and other Administrative staff.
