Your Role : As an HT Automation Specialist, your primary mission is to lead and support the adoption and optimization of high-throughput automated systems.

You'll ensure these systems integrate seamlessly with Promega chemistries, enhancing both laboratory operations and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities include developing protocols, contributing to team and Promega initiatives, and managing project timelines.

Your role is pivotal in showcasing Promega as a leader in laboratory automation.

About You : You hold a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD in a scientific discipline. Depending on your degree, your experience ranges from at least one year post-graduation for a PhD to over six years for a Bachelor's degree, ideally in industrial research and / or development environments.

You are recognized as an expert in high-throughput (HT) liquid handling platforms, with a thorough understanding of both the hardware and software components.

You have hands-on experience with industry-leading platforms such as Hamilton, Tecan, and Beckman, and you are adept at automating complex laboratory processes like nucleic acid purification and cell-based assays.

Your background includes safely handling biological samples, including those that are potentially infectious, and you are knowledgeable in bio-safety techniques.

Moreover, you possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and you are skilled at teaching and training peers on various instrumentation and applications.

JOB OBJECTIVE : Advance Promega's capabilities with automated high-throughput (HT) liquid handling and particle moving platforms.

Develop and enhance innovative methodologies that integrate seamlessly with existing Promega products and systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Collaborate with the Scientific Applications and Field Support Sciences teams to drive improvements and expansions in HT automation processes.

Employ a mix of technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and teamwork to propel Promega's technical and business objectives forward in an efficient manner.

CORE DUTIES :

1. Utilize expertise with automated HT liquid handling and particle moving platforms to innovate and enhance method development for Promega chemistries.

Develop new methodologies or adapt existing ones using instrument-specific software to ensure optimal functionality.

2. Apply a broad understanding of scientific principles, leveraging scientific creativity and collaboration with others, to achieve technical and business objectives with a focus on HT automation.

3. Expand knowledge of HT automation platforms, encompassing both hardware and software, to include additional liquid handling and particle moving technologies.

4. Support method development on existing Promega instruments, utilizing Promega quality and documentation systems to ensure compliance and maintain high standards in development processes.

5. Collaborate with colleagues within the Scientific Applications and Field Support Sciences teams, working closely with HT automation leaders to improve and expand HT automation capabilities.

6. Design and perform various applications experiments using Promega products and protocols tailored to specific customer needs.

Analyze data and communicate results to both customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS : Education :

Education :

• Hold a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD in a scientific discipline.
• Experience requirements, preferably in industrial research and / or development environments, based on degree obtained :

o Bachelor's degree : 6+ years of post-graduate experience.

o Master's degree : 2+ years of post-graduate experience.

o PhD : a minimum of one year of post-graduate experience.

Experience :

• Must be a recognized expert with HT liquid handling platforms, with a strong understanding of both the hardware and software aspects.
• Preferred experience with liquid handling platforms from Hamilton, Tecan, and Beckman.
• Expertise in automating processes such as nucleic acid purification or cell-based assays, among other related applications.
• Experience with handling biological samples, including potentially infectious samples, and an understanding of appropriate bio-safety techniques.

Skills :

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach and train co-workers and peers on instrumentation, software, methods, techniques, products, and related applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

1. Industrial experience with liquid handler automation or related fields is highly preferred, showcasing a proven track record of practical application and innovation in a commercial setting.

2. Experience with multiple HT liquid handling platforms is preferred, indicating versatility and the ability to adapt to various technologies and systems efficiently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

1. Ability to use a computer / Microsoft Office applications

2. Ability to wear safety equipment (lab coat, goggles, gloves, etc.).

3. Ability to work at lab bench or fume hood for extended period of time.
