SENIOR INSURANCE UNDERWRITER

Irvine, CA / PARTIAL REMOTE (A few days in office)

$125,000 - $165,000 per year + Performance Bonus + Full Benefits + Relocation Assistance

As a Senior Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for handling complex middle markets insurance business and acting as a Subject Matter Expert within the Underwriting Team.

Your primary focus will be on the Technology sector. This position provides an opportunity to enhance your underwriting and marketing skills while building strong relationships with our Preferred Distribution Partners in the Southern California region.

Key Responsibilities :

• Advocating for the customers' needs and enhancing their experience by understanding their risks and delivering optimal insurance solutions
• Evaluating exposures, assessing risks, and determining appropriate pricing
• Utilizing data, risk insights, and models to make informed decisions during the sales process
• Identifying gaps and aligning products and solutions to ensure contract certainty for customers
• Demonstrating analytical abilities and providing innovative advice
• Underwriting and analyzing new and renewal business
• Serving as a market-facing representative for the Middle Markets division
• Administering and monitoring underwriting guidelines, insurance regulations, and rating rules
• Nurturing and maintaining relationships with agencies and brokers
• Handling highly complex assignments within broad limits and authorities

Basic Qualifications :

High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles

Preferred Qualifications :

• Existing broker relationships in the Southern California region
• Preferred experience in Cyber and E&O insurance
• Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge of Middle Markets Property and Casualty Underwriting
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build relationships, actively listen, conduct needs analysis, and negotiate win-win solutions
• Proficient in delivering presentations and providing excellent customer service
• Understanding of underwriting philosophy, techniques, and national / local filing regulations
