Position Overview : Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Analyst to play a vital role in supporting sales across various channels, including retail, foodservice, and wholesale clubs.
The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with expertise in demand forecasting and supply chain processes.
As a Senior Supply Chain Analyst, you will ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the supply chain, focusing on effective planning and oversight.
This role combines data analysis and hands-on application to drive optimal performance across all supply chain functions.
Additionally, you will provide backup and support to critical roles within the team and ensure the timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities :
In this role, you will be at the heart of our client's supply chain operations, managing inventory, analyzing data, and ensuring that every aspect of the supply chain functions smoothly and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Inventory & Data Management :
- Oversee inventory levels across multiple warehouses to align with sales demands while avoiding excess stock. You will monitor and analyze inventory data to ensure a consistent supply chain flow, coordinate shipments from vendors, and manage product transfers between warehouses to optimize logistics and costs.
- Leverage data analysis to maintain and update demand planning systems, ensuring accurate forecasting and inventory management.
This includes using SQL queries and other reporting tools to extract and analyze data, providing insights that support business decisions.
- Regularly prepare and present detailed inventory reports, highlighting any distressed or excess items, and work with relevant departments to mitigate financial risks.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination :
- Maintain open communication with product vendors to support sales goals effectively, and assist in selecting new vendors as needed.
- Monitor supplier performance through operational scorecards, focusing on metrics like order cycle time, on-time shipping, order fulfillment rates, and product quality.
You'll also handle damage claims and collaborate on quality improvement initiatives.
Engage with the Product Development team to support the introduction of new products, ensuring that all supply chain aspects are aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in a Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred or work
- experience.
- Minimum 5 years inventory management experience.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel.
- 2 years of experience with imported goods highly desired.
- Experience in the food and / or grocery industry is extremely beneficial.
- Working knowledge using ERP software (e.g., Microsoft NAV, BC), Demand Planning software (e.g., Slimstock),
- and SQL reporting is extremely beneficial.
Skills Required :
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with proficiency in functions like lookup and pivot tables.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with excellent critical thinking and urgency.
- Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
