Overview
Work Schedule : 40-50 hours per week in season (6 months April-Sept), including most weekends, Off- Season approximately 30-35 hours per week(October- March).
The right candidate may have opportunity to work remotely for some of in and offseason hours.
Job Summary : This person will assist golf professional team and all support staff in all activities relating to the management and execution of the club’s golf operations, including but not limited to competitions, golf shop style and merchandising, execution and growth of junior golf program, streamlining of policies and procedures, creative problem solving and thinking leading to a more effective / efficient daily golf operation.
Self-disciplined, diligence, determination, detail oriented, consistency, reliability, and dependability are all traits required of this position.
Experience Required
Qualifications :
- PGA Class A member in good standing preferred
- Four year undergraduate degree preferred
- Minimum three years as golf professional or PGM intern preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required
- Proven leadership and a reputation for quality and attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as demanded by business cycles
- Experience with Club Essential Operating system preferred
- Experience with Golf Genius Tournament Software preferred
- Team player with servants heart required
Self-motivated learner with genuine desire to put success of the Club before individual
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
- Communicate and work closely with the Head Golf Professional on all areas of the golf operation.
- Facilitate operational success by providing superior member services, professional advice and assistance.
- Work with current staff to be educated on golf policies, rules and regulations in order to be as prepared as possible to answer questions concisely and confidently
- Enhance and promote club activities and programs.
- Simplify, improve, and execute the daily opening and closing of golf operations as needed.
- Work with highly experienced and educated staff to become adept at teaching people how to play golf Provide instruction to members and guests as frequently as schedule and interest allowsUse training and knowledge to create entertaining content for intraclub distribution as well as for social mediadevelop specialized learning opportunities which provide a benefit to the members and subsidizes income
- Interact with members and guests as an ambassador at first tee as scheduled
- Manage USGA handicap system for members and maintain handicap records.
- Play golf with members and guests as a part of club organized pro member season long tournament
- Junior golf assistant coach Assist head junior golf coach on Monday’s and Wednesday’s with PGA Junior League which has been nominated as best Junior Golf Program in Colorado Assisting involves execution, development, collaboration, and feedback Assist head junior golf coach with PGA Sports academy on Thursdays Assisting involves execution, development, collaboration, and feedback April September , possibly winter program as well
- Ladies 18 hole league director Responsible for coordination of Ladies 18 hole league from April September
- Merchandising Will assist the head golf professional and director of merchandising with all necessary tasks and will learn all facets of the operation including but not limited to receiving, ordering, returns, adjustments, budgeting, financials, and salesCreate unique and eye catching displays to facilitate increase in golf shop salesAssist with markdown strategy and promotions to reach product turnover goalsWill be tasked with creating and implementing a buying plan for a new product which the shop currently does not carry
- Must be willing to work inside and outside as needed
- Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional

Compensation :
- $22-25per hour depending on skills and experience (approximately 2000 hours per year)
- Junior Golf Commission- $5-$7k per year

- Annual bonus (from Club and Members) for individuals going above and beyond the basic requirements. Traditionally $2-$3k
- Total compensation before lessons approximately $45k-50k
