Job Description
Review Environmental Restoration / Regulatory Compliance (ER / RC) documents. Ensure the documents are in compliance with the various regulatory orders, including D&D Director's Final Findings and Orders (DFF&O), the Natural Resource Damage (NRD) DFF&O, the Ohio EPA Consent Decree, and the Toxic Substances Compliance Act (TSCA) Compliance Agreement between U.S. EPA and DOE.
Support DOE with writing letters to the Ohio EPA, in addition to providing technical and editorial review of letters.
Prepare various ER / RC documents and DOE draft transmittal letters to submit to the Ohio EPA.
Track the various submittals and deliverables for the D&D DFF&O Program and the Consent Decree Program to ensure timely submittal of all milestones and deliverables to the Ohio EPA and the U.S. EPA.
Track milestones and when documents or responses to comments are due to the Ohio EPA.
Maintain the electronic document libraries and databases / indices for the following : PORTS D&D DFF&O, RCRA / Consent Decree, Information Repository, National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and Notices of Violations (NOV).
Assist DOE with maintaining the Ohio EPA Cost Recovery Grant and associated tasks.
Update listing of the major active documents called the "Key Regulatory Documents List" which is provided to DOE weekly.
Create and update weekly list of documents that are with the Ohio EPA for review and DOE documents forthcoming to Ohio EPA.
Prepare presentations for DOE meetings, as needed.
Initiate the ETAS ER / RC Plan of the Week and Bi-Weekly Report for ER / RC Team to incorporate their activities. This ETAS ER / RC Plan of the Weekly is provided to the ETAS Project Director weekly along with the Bi-Weekly Report, when appropriate.
Perform reviews of various ETAS Technical Reviews and other documents when requested.
Prepare the previous month's ER / RC accomplishments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in environmental or physical science and / or demonstrated experience in the environmental area
- Fifteen years of regulatory related experience
- Extensive experience and understanding of current business issues, utility design, construction activities, regulatory requirements, safety, orders, government standards, and policies
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), EPA, State, Federal and local regulations and the effect they have on region operation business units
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the EPA, and Ohio / Kentucky environmental regulatory agencies
- DOE experience
- D&D, D&R or S&M project experience
- Nuclear facility experience

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
