The SPLC is seeking a Senior Creative Lead to join our award-winning design team!
The Senior Creative Lead will be tasked with supervising and mentoring a small team of designers while also art directing campaigns, creating assets for digital platforms, and will be an important leader within the Creative Team, the Communications Department and the entire organization.

Experienced. Proven proficiency with designing print and digital assets in Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant software.
Demonstrated application of typography, graphic design techniques and terminology, and visual sensibility.
Collaborative. Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative partner in the design process from conception to completion while engaging with internal and external colleagues.
Communicative. Skilled in persuasive verbal and written communication, exceptional presentation skills and application of feedback while maintaining respect and confidentiality.
Innovative & Strategic. Ability to be a strategic, forward thinker who actively seeks opportunities, identifies problems and proposes solutions.
Focused on Delivery and Adaptable. Established record of adaptability when working to meet multiple competing demands on time and within scope, and delivering consistent, high-quality design work.

What You'll Do
Manage, mentor and lead a small team of designers within the Creative Team.
Hire, train, and monitor staff performance and development goals, assigns duties, and conducts performance reviews.
Manage quality of and provides thoughtful feedback on a wide range of creative work (digital assets, printed materials, social, data visualization and design around video projects).
Work closely with the Director of Creative to assist in assigning design projects when needed.
Conceptualize , design and art direct smart, visually arresting campaigns and printed materials.
Create original data visualization, design elements and gifs for digital presentations and social platforms.
Work closely with freelance illustrators and provide art direction.
Ensure the design team and freelance contributors are delivering projects on time and on brand, while maintaining budget.

Minimum Qualifications
We are committed to equitable hiring practices; therefore, you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role.
- Minimum 7 years of print and digital design and art direction experience with an established media or digital company;
- Minimum 2 years managing designers; and
- High School Diploma or GED.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $84,905 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Where & How You'll Work
This role the following work designations options :
- Local Remote : Will work remotely, but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
- Telework : Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
- This role reports to the Deputy Director, Creative Design.
Other Special Considerations
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
