About the position :
We are currently seeking a Conference and Event Programmer who will take full ownership and responsibility for the creation and delivery of a portfolio of US-based in-person and virtual events annually.
Reporting to the SVP of Strategy and Content, Live Media, this is a content programming role that blends the curiosity of a journalist and the mind of a marketer with a strong desire to grow the business.
You will collaborate and work closely with the events team as well as the editorial staffs and advisory committees to develop and implement compelling, innovative agendas for C-level and senior management executives and professional advisors.
Demonstrated expertise and experience programming content in the banking, financial services, insurance or fintech industry is required.
Core responsibilities :
- Conceptualizing and researching key topics and subject matter to identify appropriate content and potential high-profile expert speakers, including conducting research calls with target audience leaders
- Creating and writing compelling program agendas, leveraging innovative formats and structures that drive value for target participants
- Recruiting high-level industry speakers, thought leaders, disruptors and innovators
- Building strong relationships and an extensive network of senior-level speakers, partners and sponsors in our core market groups and in industries disrupting them.
- Working closely with sales team to provide market intelligence, leads, and other useful information on all events within the portfolio to achieve revenue and contribution targets
- Leading the flawless execution of the events along with event production team
- Researching and specifying the audience for the events in partnership with marketing team
- Facilitating research and validating new event ideas to increase the conference, event and live media portfolio and its financial performance
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 5-8 years of conference, event and or live media programming experience (not meeting planning) creating and leading with high-profile business-to-business, content-rich conferences and other live events.
- A four-year college degree is desired, preferably in Journalism, Marketing or Business
- Deep knowledge of banking, financial services, insurance or fintech industries
- Familiarity with events and registration platforms is not necessary but desirable
- The ability to travel
- Ability to write and communicate in a persuasive, effective and succinct manner
- Ability to work and succeed in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
